Debbie Birch has had a long and diversified career in education. She has a strong background in direct academic delivery, administrative management in higher education, grant research, and proposal writing.
After a 27-year career at Purdue University Northwest, she retired in 2018. During her tenure at PNW, she was the Executive Director of Educational Outreach programs; Director of Educational Talent Search; and held several interim positions. Prior to her coming to Purdue, Debbie was a classroom teacher in Michigan.
Debbie holds a Master of Arts from Rochester University in Rochester, MI, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
For the past 12 years, Debbie has been actively volunteering at Neighbors Educational Opportunities. NEO is a not-for-profit organization that runs a free alternative public high school, Adult Education, and is a High School Equivalency (HSE) testing site. She has been the board president for the past 3 years.
